‌Aluminum foil tape is mainly composed of the following parts‌:

‌Aluminum foil layer‌: The aluminum foil layer is one of the core materials of aluminum foil tape, usually made of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy rolled into thin sheets with a thickness of 0.01-0.2 mm. Common models include 1060 and 3003, among which 1060 contains more than 99.6% aluminum, while 3003 adds 1.2% manganese to enhance hardness‌.

‌Adhesive‌: Adhesive is the bonding part of aluminum foil tape, which is mainly divided into two categories: solvent-based and water-based. Solvent-based glue uses natural rubber or butyl rubber as the main material, mixed with organic solvents such as toluene and acetone, with strong viscosity but high volatiles; water-based glue uses acrylic emulsion as the matrix, which is environmentally friendly but takes a long time to cure. High-performance tapes also add silane coupling agents to increase temperature resistance to 180°C‌.

Release paper: Release paper is used to protect adhesives and prevent adhesion. Commonly used release papers include glassine paper and PE coated paper, with a gram weight between 60-120g/㎡. Special-purpose tapes may use PET film or silicone paper as a release layer to facilitate mechanical automated labeling.
